Day 2 - Sleep Deprived

I probably describe my sleep-deprived nights way too often, so I will not mention the details of last night except to say, I think I might have gotten almost 5 hours of sleep total.  But who's counting?  It has been a good day, despite that.  God's grace is sufficient, and I think I have gotten a little bit immune to the lack of sleep.  Sure, I'm not as mentally competent as I once was, but there's nothing I can do to change that at this point.

I was able to do a workout this morning, which always makes me feel more energetic and alert.  Ella has been joining me in workouts since she was one, and James looked like he wished he could, too, today.

He was watching the bands with keen interest.

"No fair, Mom.  She gets to do it."

He was happy to find these weights on his level.

There is a magical cabinet at my parents' house that Ella loves to explore.  It is full of odds and ends from different countries, mostly tops, whistles, rocks, and cups.  She really enjoyed the whistles this afternoon.

My mom had to work this morning but came home in time to rock James to sleep for his afternoon nap.  I think they both enjoyed their time together.

There wasn't too much time left for adventure today, so we did the most adventurous thing we could do on short notice:  We went to Wal-Mart!  Of course Ella received a prize from her grandmother.  Sweet mom paid for my new earrings I picked out, too.  It was good to get out of the house and walk around a bit.

It was a relaxing evening, too.  Ella watched The Shaggy Dog while she ate dinner, and we kept James occupied with various and sundry items until it was a suitable hour for bed.  He was exhausted.

Is she gorgeous or what?

I've been able to talk to KJ via Facebook a couple of times today, so that has been good, but it sure does stink to be away from each other.  Now I hear James crying, and I worry that it might be another long night.  I'll try not to write too much about it if it is.  I miss you KJ!
