"This is like heaven."

After I posted a summary of all our weekend events, I thought of one particular thing that stood out to me at Secret Church on Friday night.  There was an Iranian missionary to Afghanistan (yes, you read that right) that shared about his conversion to Christ and his work in Afghanistan.  Before he spoke David Platt told us of Hamid's reaction upon walking into the sanctuary at Brook Hills.  "You get to worship here in a room this big with hundreds of Christians?  This is like heaven."  


His words made an impact on my heart because he was so right.  All throughout the book of Revelation we're told of thousands upon thousands of people gathered before God's throne in worship.  And that's what we get to do so freely here.  That kind of big-group worship experience can't happen in Afghanistan.  Compared to so many places in the world, this is like heaven.
